Four hundred years ago the first English Colonists, ventured to the New World. In  April 1607,the vessels Sarah Constant, Godspeed and Discovery stopped at the Chesapeake Bay. They named the spot as Cape Henry.

The area boasts of many museums the most notable being the Old Coast Guard Station, Virginia's Aquarium and the Contemporary Art Center.

Coming in to the city is easy, Norfolk International Airport, located near Chesapeake Bay, is the major airport of the area and plenty of flights are available. Transport system with in the city is excellent and plenty of road and rail options are available. Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT), is the longest bridge-tunnel complex in the world, it connects to the city’s eastern shore.

The major tourist attraction is the three mile long boardwalk, lined with numerous hotels and restaurants overlooking part of the 20 miles of sand that covers the coastline. The boardwalk truly depicts the spirit of free America. The bustling seashore filled with happy, sound of the waves mixed with the aroma of your favorite food grilling nearby is an experience in itself.

There is so much to do and see here, the place is full of amusement parks, churches and spiritual houses. Sporting activities like golfing sailing, parasailing and boating keeps a healthy competition going.
